Ingredients
Scale
Bread and Toppings
- 1 baguette
- 40g butter (for spreading)
- 100g mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- Parsley (optional, for garnish and mixture)
Tuna Mixture
- 1 can tuna chunks (185g in oil)
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of paprika powder
Instructions
- Prepare baguette: Slice the baguette diagonally into roughly 1-inch thick pieces. Spread butter on both sides of each slice.
- Bake baguette: Place the buttered baguette slices on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (170°C) for 15 minutes total, flipping the slices halfway through to ensure even toasting.
- Make tuna mixture: Drain the tuna chunks well and transfer them to a bowl. Add mayonnaise, paprika powder, salt, black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley if using. Mix thoroughly until combined.
- Assemble bruschetta: Spread about 1 tablespoon of the tuna mixture on each toasted baguette slice. Top each with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Broil the bruschetta: Place the assembled pieces under the broiler until the mozzarella is melted and bubbly, about 2-4 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with additional parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- Ensure the tuna is well-drained to avoid soggy bread.
- Adjust seasoning in the tuna mixture to your taste.
- Use fresh parsley for the best flavor and presentation.
- Broil closely and monitor to avoid burning the cheese.
- Can be served as an appetizer or light lunch.
