Description

Taco Ranch Bites are deliciously savory mini appetizers featuring seasoned ground beef, creamy ranch dressing, and a cheesy cheddar-Monterey Jack blend nestled in crispy wonton wrappers. Perfect for parties or game day, they combine bold taco flavors with a satisfying crunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing

Toppings and Assembly

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar-Monterey Jack cheese blend
  • 24 mini wonton wrappers
  • Sour cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess fat carefully to reduce greasiness.
  2. Season the beef: Add the taco seasoning packet to the browned beef and stir well. Simmer with a splash of water for a few minutes until the seasoning is fragrant and the beef is well coated.
  3. Prepare the oven and muffin tin: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin by placing one mini wonton wrapper in each cup to form little bowls for the filling.
  4. Fill the wonton wrappers: Spoon the seasoned beef mixture evenly into each wonton wrapper bowl. Top each filled wrapper with a dollop of ranch dressing followed by a sprinkle of the shredded cheddar-Monterey Jack cheese blend.
  5. Bake the bites: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake the bites for 12-15 minutes, or until the wonton wrappers turn golden brown and become crisp, and the cheese has melted.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm with sour cream on the side for dipping or topping.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content.
  • If mini wonton wrappers are unavailable, small dumpling wrappers or phyllo dough cups can be substituted.
  • For a spicier kick, add chopped jalapeños to the beef mixture.
  • These bites are best served fresh but can be reheated in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes.
  • Serve with extra ranch or salsa for dipping.
