Description

This Sweet & Spicy Ramen Noodles recipe offers a quick and flavorful twist on classic instant ramen. Combining savory soy sauce, sweet honey, and spicy sriracha with aromatic garlic and ginger, these noodles are sautéed to perfection for a satisfying and easy-to-make meal that’s ready in just minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Ramen Noodles

  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet)

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce (adjust for spice level)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
  • 1-2 tbsp water (to adjust sauce consistency)

Garnishes (Optional)

  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions
  • Crushed peanuts

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: Cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions, usually by boiling in water for 3-4 minutes until tender. Drain well, reserving a small amount of the noodle cooking water for adjusting the sauce consistency later.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water if you want to thin out the sauce for easier coating.
  3. Sauté the Sauce Aromatics: Heat a small amount of sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger and sauté for about one minute until fragrant and slightly softened, creating a flavor base for the sauce.
  4. Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add the cooked noodles to the pan, then pour the prepared sauce over them. Toss the noodles thoroughly in the sauce so they are evenly coated. If the sauce feels too thick, gradually add some reserved noodle water to loosen it up and help the sauce cling better.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Once the noodles are heated through and coated in sauce, transfer them to serving bowls. Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and crushed peanuts as desired to add texture and extra flavor.

Notes

  • Adjust sriracha quantity based on your preferred spice level.
  • Honey can be substituted with maple syrup for a vegan option.
  • Reserve some noodle water when draining to help loosen the sauce if it thickens too much.
  • Optional garnishes add crunch and fresh flavor; feel free to omit or customize.
  • Use fresh ginger for better flavor, but ground ginger can be used as a substitute.
