Description

Delight in these easy-to-make Sugar Cookie Truffles, combining crushed sugar cookies and cream cheese, coated in smooth vanilla melting wafers and decorated with festive sprinkles. Perfect bite-sized treats for holiday parties or any special occasion, ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Mixture

  • 2 cups crushed sugar cookies (about 10-12 sugar cookies)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

Coating and Decorations

  • 1 bag (10 oz) vanilla flavored melting wafers
  • Red & green sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cookie Truffle Mixture: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or tin foil. Use a food processor to crush the sugar cookies into fine crumbs. In a mixing bowl, combine the cookie crumbs and softened cream cheese until the mixture is well blended and holds together.
  2. Form Truffle Balls: Roll the mixture into 1 tablespoon-sized balls and arrange them on the prepared cookie sheet. Place the tray in the freezer for 10 minutes to firm up the balls for easier coating.
  3. Coat Truffles: Melt the vanilla-flavored melting wafers following the package instructions, usually by heating in short bursts in the microwave or using a double boiler until smooth. Using a fork, dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted wafers, fully coating each one. Return the coated truffles to the sheet, drizzle with additional melted wafers, and sprinkle with red and green decorative sprinkles.
  4. Chill and Serve: Place the coated truffles back in the freezer for 5 minutes to set the coating. Once firm, transfer the truffles to the refrigerator for storage until ready to serve. Enjoy these festive, creamy treats at your next gathering.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature before mixing.
  • You can substitute sprinkles with crushed nuts or edible glitter for different decorations.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness for up to one week.
  • Allow truffles to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving for optimal texture and flavor.
