- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup canned artichoke hearts, drained and finely chopped
- 1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Form the Crust: Press the crescent roll dough or pizza dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a uniform crust layer.
- Mix the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, chopped artichoke hearts, thawed and drained spinach, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and optional crushed red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Spread the Filling: Evenly spread the spinach and artichoke cheese mixture over the dough crust in the baking dish, smoothing the top.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 22 to 25 minutes until the filling is bubbly and the top turns lightly golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes before cutting into 16 squares. Serve warm as a tasty appetizer or party snack.
Notes
- For added richness, you can mix in 1/4 cup mayonnaise into the filling before spreading.
- These squares can be prepared ahead of time and reheated briefly in the oven before serving to retain their flavor and texture.
