Ingredients
Scale
Beef and Seasonings
- 6 beef cube steaks
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Other Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, sliced
- 8 to 10 pepperoncini peppers
- 1/4 cup pepperoncini juice (from the jar)
- 1/2 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Season the steaks: Lightly season both sides of the beef cube steaks with salt and pepper to enhance their flavor.
- Layer in slow cooker: Place the cube steaks in the bottom of the slow cooker, slightly overlapping if needed to fit all the pieces.
- Add seasonings: Evenly sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix and au jus gravy mix over the steaks for that signature Mississippi flavor.
- Add butter and peppers: Place the slices of unsalted butter on top of the steaks, then add the pepperoncini peppers and drizzle the pepperoncini juice over everything.
- Add beef broth: Pour the beef broth around the edges of the slow cooker, being careful not to wash off the seasoning.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the steaks are tender and can be easily cut with a fork.
- Serve: Serve the cube steaks with the flavorful gravy spooned over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles for a complete and comforting meal.
Notes
- Use fewer pepperoncini peppers if you prefer less heat.
- To thicken the gravy, whisk 1 tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons of water into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
