Description

This Sausage Alfredo Ravioli Lasagna is a hearty and delicious twist on traditional lasagna, layering tender cheese ravioli with rich Alfredo sauce, savory Italian sausage, and a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Baked to perfection with a golden bubbly cheese crust, it’s an easy, comforting meal perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Sausage and Sauce

  • 1 lb Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1 jar (15 oz) Alfredo sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Pasta and Cheese

  • 1 package (20 oz) cheese ravioli (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the crumbled Italian sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat thoroughly and set the sausage aside.
  2. Prepare the Alfredo Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the Alfredo sauce, heavy cream, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir everything together until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Layer the Lasagna: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish, then spread a thin layer of the Alfredo sauce mixture on the bottom. Arrange a single layer of ravioli over the sauce, then add half of the cooked sausage. Sprinkle generously with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Repeat the layering with the remaining sauce, ravioli, sausage, and cheese. Finish with any remaining sauce and cheese on top.
  4. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes to allow the ravioli to cook through and the flavors to meld.
  5. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese on top is bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Rest and Garnish: Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes after baking. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving warm to add a pop of color and fresh flavor.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen ravioli depending on availability; adjust baking time slightly if using frozen ravioli to ensure they are heated through.
  • To reduce fat content, opt for a low-fat Alfredo sauce or use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Make sure to drain the cooked sausage well to prevent excess grease in the lasagna layers.
  • Letting the lasagna rest before serving helps the layers set and makes it easier to cut.
  • For a spicier version, consider adding red pepper flakes to the Alfredo sauce mixture.
