Description

These Pita Fries with Tzatziki are a delightful Mediterranean-inspired appetizer featuring crispy baked pita strips served with a creamy Greek yogurt and cucumber dip. Perfect for snacking or entertaining guests!

Ingredients

Scale

For the pita fries:

  • 4 pita breads (preferably pocket-less)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the tzatziki sauce:

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup grated cucumber (squeezed dry)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Cut the pita breads into strips or wedges. In a large bowl, toss the pita pieces with olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated. Arrange the pita strips in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Make the tzatziki sauce. In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, dill, salt, and pepper. Stir well until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Serve the warm pita fries with the chilled tzatziki sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, bake the pita fries on a wire rack.
  • You can also air fry them at 375°F for 5–7 minutes.
  • The tzatziki can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
