Description

These Pepperoni Pizza Tacos combine the best of two favorite foods—pizza and tacos—into a fun and easy-to-make dish. With crispy taco shells filled with tangy pizza sauce, melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, savory pepperoni, and Italian seasoning, they make a perfect appetizer or meal that’s sure to delight both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale

Taco Shells

  • 8 small taco shells (soft or hard, your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing, if using soft shells)

Fillings

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 20-25 slices of pepperoni
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Garnish

  • Fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s at the right temperature for baking the tacos evenly and melting the cheese perfectly.
  2. Prepare the taco shells: If using soft taco shells, lightly brush each one with olive oil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes to crisp them up. If using hard taco shells, this step can be skipped as they are already crispy.
  3. Assemble the tacos: Spread about a spoonful of pizza sauce into the bottom of each taco shell. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, add a few slices of pepperoni on top, then sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese. Finish by sprinkling dried oregano and garlic powder evenly over each taco.
  4. Bake the tacos: Arrange the assembled tacos upright on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden, and the taco shells are crispy.
  5. Serve: Carefully remove the tacos from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve immediately to enjoy the warm, melty, flavorful Pepperoni Pizza Tacos at their best.

Notes

  • Soft taco shells become crispy with the olive oil brushing and pre-baking step, but if you prefer softer shells, you can omit this.
  • Feel free to substitute pepperoni with other pizza toppings such as cooked sausage or veggies.
  • Use fresh basil as garnish for added freshness and color.
  • These tacos are best enjoyed immediately but can be reheated in the oven to retain crispiness.
