Main Ingredients:
- 1 large head green cabbage
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Seasoning:
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Garnish:
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the cabbage: Remove any tough or damaged outer cabbage leaves. Slice the cabbage into rounds, about 3/4- to 1-inch thick, keeping the core intact.
- Season the cabbage: Arrange the cabbage steaks on the baking sheet. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Brush the mixture over both sides of each cabbage steak.
- Roast the cabbage: Roast for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy edges form and the centers are tender.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with parsley if desired and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil the cabbage steaks for the last 2–3 minutes.
- These pair well with grilled meats or can be served as a hearty vegetarian main.
