Ingredients
Scale
For the Dough
- 2 cans (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
For the Filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 3 fresh jalapeños, seeded and finely diced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For Finishing
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Make the Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, crumbled bacon, diced jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
- Arrange the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Arrange the triangles in a circular pattern on the prepared baking sheet, overlapping the wide ends slightly in the center and positioning the points outward to form a ring shape.
- Fill and Fold: Spoon the jalapeño cheese mixture evenly onto the wide ends of each crescent triangle. Carefully fold the pointed ends over the filling and tuck them underneath the center of the ring to seal in the filling and create a neat appearance.
- Brush with Butter: Brush the entire top of the ring with melted butter to promote a golden, rich crust during baking.
- Bake: Place the assembled ring in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the ring from the oven and let it cool slightly. Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the top for a fresh burst of flavor and color. Slice into portions and serve warm.
Notes
- To adjust the heat level, reduce the number of jalapeños or substitute with canned mild green chiles for a milder kick.
- Ranch dressing or sour cream complement this ring well as a dipping sauce option.
- This recipe is ideal as a party appetizer or a game-day snack.
- Make sure cream cheese is softened to achieve a creamy filling texture.
