Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Wings
- 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prep the Wings: Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl. Add olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss until the wings are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Bake the Wings: Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through baking to ensure they become golden and crispy on all sides.
- Make the Sauce: While the wings bake, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the honey, freshly squeezed lemon juice, lemon zest, cracked black pepper, and salt. Allow the sauce to simmer gently for 1 to 2 minutes until it is warmed through and well combined.
- Toss Wings in Sauce: When the wings are done baking, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the honey lemon pepper sauce over the wings and toss gently to coat every wing evenly with the flavorful sauce.
- Serve: Serve the wings hot, optionally garnished with extra lemon zest or chopped parsley for added freshness and presentation.
Notes
- For extra crispy wings, bake on a wire rack or finish under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes.
- You can also air-fry or deep-fry the wings instead of baking for alternative cooking methods.
- Adjust the amount of lemon juice or honey in the sauce to achieve your preferred balance of sweet and tangy flavors.
