Ingredients
Scale
Blondie Batter
- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pastel-colored chocolate candies or M&M’s
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
Frosting
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Sprinkles and extra candies for decorating
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper and lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly until combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt to evenly distribute the leavening and seasoning.
- Form Blondie Batter: Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Fold in the pastel-colored chocolate candies and white chocolate chips gently.
- Bake: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool: Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack to set before frosting.
- Prepare Frosting: Beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, heavy cream (or milk), and vanilla extract, then beat until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.
- Frost and Decorate: Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled blondies. Decorate with sprinkles and extra candies as desired.
- Serve: Cut into 16 squares and serve, perfect for festive gatherings or as a sweet seasonal treat.
Notes
- Tint the frosting with pastel food coloring for an even more festive and colorful presentation.
- Blondies can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with a plant-based alternative and use non-dairy milk.
- Make sure the blondies are completely cooled before frosting to prevent melting.
