Description

A creamy, comforting Crockpot Angel Chicken recipe featuring tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich Italian dressing and mushroom soup sauce, served over delicate angel hair pasta. Perfect for an easy, hands-off weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Sauce

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 packet Italian dressing mix (about 1 ounce)
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed golden mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 4 ounces cream cheese

Pasta

  • 1 pound angel hair pasta

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Place the 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of your crockpot, arranging them evenly.
  2. Make the Sauce: Melt 1/4 cup butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the packet of Italian dressing mix, the can of condensed golden mushroom soup, 1/2 cup chicken broth, and 4 ounces cream cheese. Stir constantly until the mixture becomes a smooth and creamy sauce.
  3. Combine: Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the chicken breasts in the crockpot, ensuring all pieces are well coated.
  4. Cook Chicken: Cover the crockpot with its lid and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or until the chicken is tender and fully cooked through.
  5. Cook Pasta: Near the end of the cooking time, cook 1 pound of angel hair pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta well.
  6. Serve: Plate the cooked angel hair pasta and top with the tender chicken breasts and generous amounts of the creamy sauce from the crockpot. Serve immediately for best flavor.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream cheese with mascarpone for a slightly tangier flavor.
  • For a thicker sauce, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow some liquid to evaporate.
  • Leftover sauce can be reheated gently on stovetop; add a splash of chicken broth if it thickened too much.
  • Angel hair pasta works best as it soaks up the sauce nicely without overpowering the delicate texture of the chicken.
  • This recipe can also be prepared in an Instant Pot using the slow cooker function if your crockpot is unavailable.
