Description

This Creamy Vanilla Cinnamon Milk Tea is a warm, comforting beverage that combines robust black tea with fragrant cinnamon and smooth vanilla for a deliciously spiced, creamy drink. Sweetened with maple syrup and optionally enhanced with a pinch of sea salt, this recipe is perfect for a cozy moment or as a flavorful alternative to your regular tea routine.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 2 black tea bags (or 2 tsp loose-leaf black tea)
  • 1 cup water

Milk Mixture

  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (or 1 cinnamon stick)
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tsp maple syrup or sweetener of choice (adjust to taste)
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Boil Water: Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan to prepare the tea base.
  2. Steep Tea: Steep the tea bags or loose-leaf tea in the boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes, based on how strong you like your tea.
  3. Warm Milk and Cinnamon: While the tea steeps, warm the milk in a separate saucepan over medium-low heat and add the cinnamon to infuse the flavor.
  4. Add Vanilla and Sweetener: Once the milk is warm but not boiling, remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and the maple syrup or your preferred sweetener.
  5. Combine Tea and Milk: Remove the tea bags or infuser from the brewed tea, then combine the tea with the spiced milk mixture.
  6. Froth Mixture: Whisk gently or froth the mixture to create a creamy texture, enhancing the drink’s smoothness.
  7. Add Sea Salt (Optional): Optionally, add a pinch of sea salt to bring out and balance the flavors.
  8. Serve: Serve the milk tea warm, optionally garnished with a dusting of ground cinnamon or vanilla bean specks for extra aroma and visual appeal.

Notes

  • You can use any type of milk including dairy, almond, soy, or oat milk.
  • Adjust the steeping time for stronger or milder tea flavor.
  • Maple syrup can be substituted with honey, agave, or other sweeteners as preferred.
  • For a vegan version, ensure plant-based milk and sweeteners are used.
  • Using a cinnamon stick instead of ground cinnamon will give a subtler cinnamon infusion.
  • Optional sea salt enhances the depth of flavor, but can be omitted if preferred.
  • Frothing the tea is optional but recommended for a luxurious texture.
