Description

Costco Soup Dumplings are a convenient and delicious appetizer featuring frozen dumplings filled with savory broth. These dumplings can be quickly heated using a microwave, steaming, or pan-steaming methods, making them perfect for a quick snack or light meal. Serve them hot with an optional dipping sauce of soy, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and chili for added flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Soup Dumplings

  • 1 tray (6 pieces) frozen Costco soup dumplings (e.g., Bibigo brand)
  • 2 tablespoons water (for pan steaming, optional)

Dipping Sauce (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Pinch of chili flakes or a few drops of chili oil

Instructions

  1. Microwave the Dumplings: Place the frozen soup dumplings on the provided tray and cover with the attached plastic film. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Let sit for 1 minute before carefully removing, as the contents will be hot.
  2. Steam the Dumplings: Place the frozen dumplings in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for 10–11 minutes, or until fully heated through and tender.
  3. Pan-Steam the Dumplings: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Arrange the dumplings in the pan, then add 2 tablespoons of water. Cover with a lid and steam for 4–5 minutes, or until heated through and the bottoms are lightly crisped.
  4. Prepare Dipping Sauce (Optional): Combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and chili flakes or chili oil in a small bowl. Stir to mix.
  5. Serve: Serve the hot dumplings immediately with the dipping sauce on the side. Be cautious when biting into the dumplings as the broth inside will be hot.

Notes

  • These dumplings contain hot broth inside — be careful when eating to avoid burns.
  • For added flavor, serve with chopped green onions or toasted sesame seeds.
  • Choose your heating method based on convenience and texture preference: microwave for speed, steaming for a soft texture, or pan-steaming for a crisp bottom.
  • Ensure to handle the hot dumplings carefully to prevent spills and burns.
