Ingredients
Scale
Brownie Base
- 1 box (18 ounces) fudge brownie mix
- Ingredients listed on brownie mix package (usually eggs, oil, and water)
Topping
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or shortening
- White chocolate drizzle for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Brownies: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. Prepare the brownies according to the package instructions, combining the mix with eggs, oil, and water as directed. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until set, testing doneness with a toothpick that should come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool Brownies: Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the pan before adding toppings to prevent melting or sliding.
- Arrange Strawberries: Once cooled, evenly arrange the halved fresh strawberries on top of the brownies, placing them cut side down for best presentation and easier dipping.
- Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate chips and coconut oil or shortening. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
- Coat Strawberries and Brownies: Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the arranged strawberries and brownies, gently spreading with a spatula to ensure all berries are coated and the chocolate covers the top surface.
- Chill to Set: Refrigerate the chocolate-topped brownies for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate has completely firmed up.
- Slice and Garnish: Cut into 16 squares. Optionally, drizzle with melted white chocolate for an elegant finishing touch before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute homemade brownies if preferred instead of boxed brownie mix.
- For an elegant presentation, dip individual strawberries in melted chocolate first before placing them on each brownie square.
- Best served the same day to enjoy the freshness of the berries.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator to keep the chocolate firm and berries fresh.
