Puff Pastry:

- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1–2 jalapeños, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Egg Wash:
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon milk
Garnish (optional):
- 1 tablespoon chopped chives or green onions
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, jalapeños, garlic, paprika, and salt until smooth.
- Prepare the pastry: Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle. Spread the cheese mixture on one half, fold over, and press to seal.
- Cut and twist: Slice the pastry into strips, twist each strip, and place on the baking sheet.
- Brush with egg wash: Whisk together the egg and milk, then brush each twist with the mixture.
- Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
- Garnish and serve: Cool slightly, garnish with chives if desired, and serve warm or at room temperature.
