Description

These Cheesy Dynamite Chicken Buns are a spicy, savory treat featuring tender shredded chicken mixed with creamy cheeses and a kick of sriracha, all stuffed inside soft dinner rolls and baked until golden and melty. Perfect as a party appetizer or a fun family snack, these Asian-inspired buns deliver bold flavors and gooey cheese in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 cup cooked shredded chicken
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese

Buns

  • 4 soft dinner rolls or slider buns
  • 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the stuffed buns.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, mayonnaise, sriracha, soy sauce, garlic powder, cream cheese, and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, mixing thoroughly until well combined and creamy.
  3. Prepare Buns: Slice the tops off the dinner rolls horizontally to form a pocket, careful not to cut through the bottom, creating space to stuff the filling.
  4. Stuff Buns: Generously fill each bun pocket with the prepared chicken mixture, pressing it in gently to hold the filling.
  5. Add Cheese Topping: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the stuffed buns to add melty, cheesy goodness on top.
  6. Prepare for Baking: Place the stuffed buns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops lightly with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if using, to add flavor and a golden finish.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes until the cheese melts fully and the tops become golden brown and slightly crispy.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove the buns from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh, colorful finish. Serve hot for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can use rotisserie chicken for convenience and extra flavor.
  • Adjust the level of spice by adding more or less sriracha to suit your taste preferences.
  • These buns make a great option for parties, game days, or casual family dinners.
