Filling
- 1 cup cooked shredded chicken
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup cream cheese
Buns
- 4 soft dinner rolls or slider buns
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the stuffed buns.
- Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, mayonnaise, sriracha, soy sauce, garlic powder, cream cheese, and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, mixing thoroughly until well combined and creamy.
- Prepare Buns: Slice the tops off the dinner rolls horizontally to form a pocket, careful not to cut through the bottom, creating space to stuff the filling.
- Stuff Buns: Generously fill each bun pocket with the prepared chicken mixture, pressing it in gently to hold the filling.
- Add Cheese Topping: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the stuffed buns to add melty, cheesy goodness on top.
- Prepare for Baking: Place the stuffed buns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops lightly with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if using, to add flavor and a golden finish.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes until the cheese melts fully and the tops become golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the buns from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh, colorful finish. Serve hot for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can use rotisserie chicken for convenience and extra flavor.
- Adjust the level of spice by adding more or less sriracha to suit your taste preferences.
- These buns make a great option for parties, game days, or casual family dinners.
