Description

This delightful Cadbury Flake Mousse Tart features a crisp digestive biscuit crust filled with a creamy, airy mousse made from rich Cadbury Flake chocolate and whipped cream. Enhanced with optional gelatin for firmness, this no-bake mousse tart is chilled to perfection and topped with delicate flakes of chocolate and fresh berries for an indulgent yet elegant dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Tart Shell

  • 1 ½ cups digestive biscuit crumbs (or graham cracker crumbs)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

Mousse Filling

  • 4 Cadbury Flake chocolate bars (about 35g each)
  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp gelatin (optional, for extra firmness)

Decoration

  • 2 additional Cadbury Flake bars, broken into pieces
  • Fresh berries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tart Shell: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the digestive biscuit crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Stir until the mixture is evenly moistened. Press this mixture firmly into the base and sides of a tart pan, ensuring an even layer forms. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes or until the crust turns lightly golden. Remove and let it cool completely before adding the filling.
  2. Make the Mousse: Break the Cadbury Flake chocolate bars into a microwave-safe bowl. Melt the chocolate gently in the microwave by heating in 20-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth. Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly to avoid curdling the cream later. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. If using gelatin, first dissolve it in a small amount of warm water, then blend it into the melted chocolate. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until smoothly combined and light.
  3. Assemble the Tart: Once the tart shell has completely cooled, pour the prepared mousse evenly over the crust. Use a spatula to smooth the surface. Place the tart in the refrigerator and chill for at least 3 hours to allow the mousse to set firmly.
  4. Decorate and Serve: Before serving, adorn the tart with broken pieces of Cadbury Flake chocolate and fresh berries if desired for a pop of color and fresh flavor. Slice into 8 portions and enjoy this luxurious mousse tart.

Notes

  • For a firmer mousse, gelatin is recommended but can be omitted if you prefer a lighter texture.
  • If digestive biscuits are unavailable, graham cracker crumbs can be used as a substitute for the crust.
  • Chilling time is essential for the mousse to set properly; do not rush this step.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of powdered sugar in the whipped cream if desired.
  • Fresh berries add a nice contrast but are optional depending on availability and preference.
