Description

Delicious and crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites made by air frying bite-sized salmon fillets seasoned with a flavorful blend of spices and topped with a creamy, spicy, and slightly sweet Bang Bang sauce. Perfect for a quick, crowd-pleasing appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon Bites:

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon fillets, skin removed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

Bang Bang Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Make Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth and well combined. Set the sauce aside.
  2. Season Salmon: In a large bowl, combine the salmon bite-sized pieces with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Toss well to evenly coat the salmon pieces with the seasoning.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to preheat while you prepare the salmon bites.
  4. Air Fry Salmon: Arrange the seasoned salmon bites in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket gently halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crispiness. The salmon should be cooked through and have a crispy exterior.
  5. Serve: Transfer the crispy salmon bites to a serving platter. Drizzle generously with the prepared Bang Bang sauce and serve extra sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • For extra heat, cayenne pepper is optional and can be adjusted to taste.
  • You can substitute mayonnaise with a vegan mayo to make this dish vegan-friendly.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
  • Serve with rice or greens for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days but are best enjoyed fresh.
