Description

These Baked Garlic Parmesan Potato Wedges are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, coated with savory garlic, paprika, and a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Perfect as a flavorful and healthier alternative to fried potato wedges, they make a delicious side dish that pairs wonderfully with a variety of dips.

Ingredients

Scale

Potatoes

  • 4 medium russet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into wedges

Seasonings and Toppings

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Prepare Potato Wedges: In a large bowl, toss the potato wedges with olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until each wedge is evenly coated with the seasonings and oil.
  3. Arrange and Bake: Spread the potato wedges in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, placing them cut side down to develop a crispy edge. Bake for about 17-18 minutes.
  4. Flip and Continue Baking: Flip the wedges carefully to the other side and bake for another 17-18 minutes until they are golden brown and tender when pierced with a fork.
  5. Add Parmesan Cheese: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the hot wedges.
  6. Melt Cheese: Return the baking sheet to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese melts and adheres to the wedges.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and, if desired, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley. Serve the wedges hot alongside your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak the potato wedges in cold water for 30 minutes before baking, then pat them completely dry to remove excess moisture.
  • These wedges are delicious served with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or a yogurt-based dip for added flavor.
